When we look at the garden now compared to when Emily first started, it is amazing. So much work has gone into this project, and it’s starting to come to life.

Mark, Blagdon

Emily continues to be an important part of my gardening strategy. Working together, I feel more in control of the garden and don’t find it so stressful.

Jane, Claverham

I highly recommend working with Emily, she has been an enormous support in helping me keep on top of the garden when I’m busy with work or away. Emily’s reliability, along with her valuable advice, has given me confidence that she not only considers my personal needs in the garden but also my budget. Most importantly, Emily listens to my ideas and preferences and considers how my garden will be used throughout the year, before making thoughtful recommendations about the plants I could use. Emily’s ongoing advice and support has meant I now enjoy my garden all year long. Thank you Emily!

About Me

I grew up playing in a very large garden with distinct areas; rose garden, vegetable garden, ponds and paddocks. In my first house I designed a small courtyard area, replacing the drab paving slabs and old fencing with decking and carefully chosen plants and using the lovely soft red brick walls, which had been hidden, as a backdrop.

Fast forward 20 years, and several gardens later I got my hands on my current garden – a blank canvas of lawns and hedges. My creativity came to life as I visualised what I could make of each area, creating planters, seating and decking from upcycled materials as well as a wildlife pond and herbaceous borders. It will always be a work in progress, but the garden has come to life.

Not wishing to go back to an office job once my children started school, I decided to use my creative streak and my love of outdoors and gained a City and Guilds Level 2 Diploma in Practical Horticulture. I started Blooming Confident Gardening in 2021 and I haven’t looked back.
